HOT NEWS

Governor Culver has announced the “Jumpstart  Iowa” Disaster Recovery Initiative, which will provide financial assistance to small business owners and homeowners who suffered damage due to the severe weather in the spring and summer of this year. It includes up to $10,000 to homeowners and up to $5,000 to small business owners for the purchase of qualifying energy efficient equipment. Money for energy efficient equipment is being provided by the Iowa Power Fund. Funds will be distributed by the Councils of Government (COGs) beginning October 1, 2008. While this will not directly impact municipal utilities, they will still have some responsibilities.
